essays 1-03b Family relationship in Hawaiian culture!

I watched the movie of ‘Lilo and Stitch’. I really moved this story and I thought about two things, family and culture. Heroine, Lilo doesn’t have her parents and Stitch has no family. They were not family but after they met, they could become a good family. Sometimes they said ‘Ohana means family'. I thought this story’s main theme is family. Another thing I could see the Hawaiian culture. Lilo and her sister, Nani, played on the beach and Nani’s boy friend is fire dancer. These things make this story very attractive. I was interested in these, so I’ll talk about family and culture.

First of all, I thought about what family is. There are many kinds of family in this world, so,it is difficult that define what family is. Through watching this story, I could a little understand what family is. Family is so precious thing that we have to make good relationship. I also thought about my family.

In my case, I have a freely family. We are doing the thing that we want to do or we have to do, so recently we cannot eat dinner with all members. My father, my brother and I always come back home at midnight because we have a job, and my grandfather always goes to bed early. We are all live at same house but we couldn’t eat same dinner. Not only the dinner but also the breakfast, we almost eat their meal each other. I think it is the problem of my family. After I watched this story I thought we have to improve our family.

In this story, Lilo is a young girl and lives with her sister. She has no parents, so she had often felt lonely. There were only two people in their family but they have good relationship with each other.

Secondly, I was interested in culture because some Hawaiian culture attracted me. There are some interesting cultures in Hawaii. Native Hawaiian language sounds very good for me. I had never heard ‘Ohana’. I thought Ohana is good word, and it means family. I felt Hawaiian people have good relationship with around people, because Hawaiian native language, Ohana, means family and it was used in this story many times. I thought only the important word could survive for the long time, so I think Ohana is one of the most important words for Hawaiian people.

Through watching Lilo and Stitch, I learned about the importance of family relationship and culture. I felt moving that Lilo could make the good relationship. I was also interested in Hawaiian culture. Thanks to these things, Lilo and Stitch could become a nice story. I think family and culture are very important for all people.[452 words]
